Budget San Jose wedding

Getting married is one of your most important day of our lives. Some people tend to have a budget San Jose wedding as to save their money for some practical reasons. What important to know is that a budget San Jose wedding does not mean a cheap San Jose wedding. It all depends on how smart you plan your budget San Jose wedding.

There are many aspects that you can cut cost of your wedding expenditures. However, you should pay attentions on some aspects so that you will not sacrifice the quality of it.

First, San Jose wedding Photography and/or Videography. A professional San Jose wedding photography can charge you anywhere between $1000-$3000. You might think that you can just ask your friend or relative to take your San Jose wedding pictures. It is a No No. San Jose wedding pictures and videos are the only things that you can see or view to re-live your San Jose wedding moments in future. If you really need to cut your budget, try asking around from some photography clubs. There are some members out there who really have a hobby of photography and would not mind to give you lower prices. One good practice is to pay them first to do your pre-San Jose wedding picture or video. If you satisfy with the results, you can contract him/her again for you San Jose wedding day.

San Jose wedding – Venue

San Jose wedding venue. If you think that you could save money by having your San Jose wedding money in your house for free of charge, make sure that your house if conformable enough for guest to gather around. We would like the guest to be comfortable so that they would stay longer. In the end, how could the San Jose wedding party be nice when guests are leaving early? Try to find good venue that match your theme. You would find that in some days or time, the price could be lower.

San Jose wedding – Flowers

Flowers. Have you asked around how much it will cost you for arranging San Jose wedding ceremony flowers? You get shocked when it could cost you above $700 right? Some of the flower vendor could charge you very cheap. But the be careful of vendor that will show you a good sample of flowers, and when it is time for your San Jose wedding day, he/she will arrange the flowers with some “not fresh” ones. Well, you can always cut your cost here buy ordering the flowers that are in season. Or, you can have a garden San Jose wedding without adding more budgets to flower decorations.

There are other aspects to consider for your budget wedding. Overall, the important thing is to have proper planning for your budget San Jose wedding. You can cut cost up to 50% of what you have budgeted.

When it comes to the dynamics of a family, nothing is ever "posed" and stiff! A day in the life usually involves chaos and craziness at every turn. Have you ever seen those family pictures where everyone matches, the background is a muddy shade of tie-dye blue, and the kids have gone bug-eyed from posing too long?

When it comes to the dynamics of a family, nothing is ever “posed” and stiff! A day in the life usually involves chaos and craziness at every turn. Have you ever seen those family pictures where everyone matches, the background is a muddy shade of tie-dye blue, and the kids have gone bug-eyed from posing too long? I couldn’t imagine looking at a picture of my family like this and thinking, “Wow, this picture really encapsulates who we are together.” Um, I don’t think so!

Families involve happy times, angry times, silly times, crazy times, and everything in between. The only way to get the real-ness of a family is to find a photographer that can catch those in between reactions and go on a fun (no, really!) family photo shoot with you.

1) Go OUTSIDE the box (Or studio, that is)

Sometimes being in a studio just creates that stuffy stifled atmosphere that suppresses the real interactions of a family. I believe that each family member gets nervous because it is an out-of-the-ordinary setting and one no one is used to. So, get out of there! Take the kids and go to a park. Visit the zoo or go get some ice cream. For fun family photos, take a trip somewhere to do something your family is used to doing together. Your family photos will look more real, your photographer will have an easier time of catching those moments that make your family unique, and everyone will be relaxed and at ease with each other. No nervousness allowed!

2) Matching Smatching

I don’t know any families that wear matching clothing all of the time. If you want family photos that look real, look believable, and look like YOU, wouldn’t it make sense to do the things you’re used to doing every day? If you don’t wear matching shirts every time you leave the house, don’t wear them to the photo shoot! Wear things you are comfortable in and that make each of you feel good. Bright colors usually work the best for the camera and help each person to stand out from the background. My suggestion is to pick a color scheme and stick with it. Choose just a few colors for your family photos that everyone is comfortable with and looks attractive in. Blend – don’t match.

3) Ignore the camera -no, seriously

I have seen so many occasions where people get in front of the camera and automatically freeze. There is just something about that big glass lens that makes people stiffen up and become nervous! The BEST way to become comfortable in front of the camera is to act like it isn’t even there. IGNORE IT. Tell the kids to ignore the camera like they ignore you when you tell them to clean their room. Yep, that should get the message across. The more you act like yourselves, the better your family pictures will turn out.

4) Photographer knows best

Moms, you may have to take a breather on this one. For your family photos, ask your family photographer for suggestions and tips on how to make your day more successful. For example, I would tell a client to make sure you scheduled your family photo session around your normal daily schedule. Be aware of naptimes, wake-up times, work-times, and any other time that you are used to during your daily routine. Also, be very aware of the time of day that you choose for your shoot. If you want to take a trip to the park for your family photos, don’t plan on having the shoot at 1pm in the afternoon. The light will not work nearly as well as it would closer to evening or late afternoon. Squinty eyes can ruin a picture! Always ask your photographer for some helpful tips and ideas to you can plan your shoot accordingly. Remember: The photographer wants to work with you!

5) ALL Day is okay!

Here is a fun family photo idea that I often like to throw out there: why not book a family photographer for the entire DAY? Have the photographer get the real low-down on what your family is like on an hour-by-hour basis. Booking your family photographer for an entire day of shooting will get many moments of daily life you wouldn’t capture otherwise. For the moms, you are usually the one taking the pictures, right? Or you dads? This way, you BOTH can be in the photos without having to set a timer and run to pose in front of the camera. These shoots produce photojournalistic style photos – ones that tell a story, moment to moment, emotion to emotion. Get the kids in their jammies eating breakfast, the family making dinner together, and the parents tucking the kids in bed. You could break apart the day any which way you like, just so long as you get the memories that you want to hold on to.

The biggest part of fun family photography is getting everyone to act in the normal way they do when together, without a strange camera in your face. When a family is real and comfortable with each other, the true spirit of the family dynamic comes across. Using these tips for better family photos, getting that spirit across to the photographer is what will give you lasting and memorable family photos for years to come.

This is a modern world, and we are modern…families! No matter who the members of your family are, chances are you love capturing their smiles, laughs and happy times with our age’s newest and latest technology. Cameras and photography have come a long way since they were first invented, so don’t feel bad if you’re not quite caught up with all the techniques out there. While the “traditional” family portrait may cut it sometimes, we think your gorgeous family needs some modern shots to preserve precious moments. If you’ve been looking for fast, easy and fun techniques to help you catch all of your modern family’s great memories, we’ve got a treat for you today!

We’ve gathered our top four favorite family photography tips:

-Don’t be shy
Sarah suggests getting down low to your baby and kids’ level by getting right down on the ground with them to capture their great smiles and expressive faces. Also get in as close as your camera will allow: you’ll capture all those precious emotions better.

-Act normal
Don’t resort to funny faces or waving stuffed animals to get your kids to “perform” on camera. Just take photos as usual and let them eventually grow used to having a camera around. You might not always get a smile, but you will always get genuine reactions from your kids!

-Find a rhythm
Sarah’s brilliant idea of putting on some music for your kids for a casual photo shoot in your home is right on target, and she suggests bringing out costumes and just letting your kids having fun dancing and moving.

-Turn off the flash
Our personal favorite tip of Sarah’s (and one we can’t underscore enough) is to turn off the flash!

You’ll see the photograph in natural light and get to experiment with the composition, producing beautiful, natural and flash-free photos!

What are your favorite tips when photographing your family? What’s the best photo you’ve ever taken of a loved one, and the story behind it? Share with us your own great family photography ideas!

Choosing a Good Portrait Photographer

So you need to get the family photographed, here are a few key facts to help you choose some of the best portrait photographers for your family. It can be difficult as when you search online there are hundreds of family photographers out there all wanting to attract your attention. My first piece of advice would be to choose a couple of photographers who are local to you and simply give them a call.

You will know in the first few minutes if you have a photographer who is used to booking in families and children, they will ask about your children and their ages and sleeping patterns in order too choose the best time for them. Advice will be offered on what to wear and what you should and should not say to the children to make the session successful. Once you have found the photographer you want to use, ask some friends or colleagues if they have used this company/photographer before to get some feedback.

Before you book in ask a few questions about pricing and products, you more often than not get what you pay for, try to see this as an investment for your family as after all this is a lifetime purchase so don’t be looking for the cheapest option as you will be disappointed.

So you are all ready, you go to the studio or location, the session is brilliant and you can not wait to see the finished result. An appointment is usually made at this stage to invite you to see the previews, also this is a good time to just to have another look at the products on offer so you can begin to plan where to hang your amazing new portraits.

I find some of the best photographers will like to show you the previews instead of a sales person, again another key point as sometimes you can be overwhelmed with the choosing your images and knowing how best to display them. Your photographer will be able to guide you with professional display advice even down to the framing style.

Having your family portraits taken should be an enjoyable experience, young children love looking at themselves in pictures especially with Mummy or Daddy, so if you have been putting it off, just do it pick up the phone and get booked in!

Simple Baby Photography Tips For Infants and Newborns

Most of the time photographing a newborn can be challenging and somewhat unpredictable. In this article I’ve listed some useful Baby Photography Tips For Infants And Newborns that can make your sessions go as smoothly as possible.

Tips #1 Learning The Location

If this is a location shoot, you will probably want to visit the home first, so you can check out the windows and be sure that you will have adequate light. If this is not possible, ask the parents what the lighting is like for the particular time of day that your sitting is scheduled.

Tips #2 Discuss The Wardrobe

Discuss with the parents prior to the sitting how they feel about the baby’s wardrobe. You should consider photographing their wrinkly, soft-skinned bodies, so try to encourage the parents to forego the clothing.

They are only an infant for such a short period of time and we want to capture every little part of them! Make sure to remind parents to remove clothes or anything that may leave marks on the baby’s delicate skin approximately 1 hour prior to the sitting. This really helps in post-editing so you won’t be spending all of your time getting rid of sock marks, etc.

Tips #3 Room Temperature

Before the sitting, make sure that the room or location is very warm. Newborns can be very uncooperative when they are cold. I sometimes use a heating pad underneath the backdrop or material that the baby is laying on for extra warmth.

Tips #4 Be Prepared

Be sure to have any props, baby posers, backdrops, etc. ready prior to the sitting. Keep hand sanitizer, clean blankets, paper towels, disinfectant cleaner, baby wipes and tissues handy. Trust me, you will need these things!

Tips #5 Natural Posing

Pose infants in their natural position. It looks awkward and unnatural to see them sitting upright. A beanbag poser is an easy way to pose a baby because it naturally molds around the baby’s body. Not to mention that it is very safe and comfortable for the infant.

Tips #6 Choose The Right Height And Angles

Get down to their level. When you shoot down low at the baby’s level, you are bringing the viewer into the baby’s world vs. standing over the baby and looking down on it. Very often, I lay on the floor on my stomach for some great captures.

Although, most of my time is spent at the baby’s level, it is a good idea to consider other angles. You can also try shooting from a bird’s eye view or from down below the baby’s level to show other interesting perspectives.

Photographing newborns and infants requires a lot of patience. I always allow extra time for these sessions because they can be so unpredictable. Use these tips in your photography sessions and you will be on your way to creating beautiful baby portraits.

When my daughter was born I suddenly became aware of a common problem, was it just me or was I the only apparent lazy father in the world! I would often sit down and look through the files on the camera and phone, seeing how much she had changed. It was only a few weeks later that I became public enemy number one in the household. One day as I was again browsing through the images, my lovely wife mentioned in passing, "it's about time we had some of those printed for the album", I just nodded or made a noise to what she had said.

Professional Baby Photography, Why Bother?

I am a pro photographer, I take portraits of babies on a daily basis, and often explain the importance of having some professional baby photography.

When my daughter was born I suddenly became aware of a common problem, was it just me or was I the only apparent lazy father in the world! There I was taking loads of pictures on my compact digital and on my iPhone, pleased with myself with a mass catalogue of Daisy’s precious first few weeks. I would often sit down and look through the files on the camera and phone, seeing how much she had changed. It was only a few weeks later that I became public enemy number one in the household. One day as I was again browsing through the images, my lovely wife mentioned in passing, “it’s about time we had some of those printed for the album”, I just nodded or made a noise to what she had said. I sat and thought about this for a few seconds and thought to myself, I must choose the best ones to print off as it will of course be cheaper and why do we need all the funny looking ones! This is when it all started…

The general banter went on for a few more weeks, about when I was going to get the images printed, when we were going to sit down and choose the ones we wanted, you get the general idea. A year passed I kid you not, till one day I walked into the photography processing shop and handed the assistant the memory card. I was asked if I wanted to select which ones I wanted printed, I shouted “all of them, just print the lot!” A couple of days past and off I went to collect the images, I got home, we poured a glass of wine and looked through the photographs together, not on a computer, iphone or digital camera just the old fashioned way and it was brilliant funny ones and all!

So enough ranting from me, but here is a little advice. If someone suggests to you to have some professional baby photographs taken, do it, do not hesitate just pay for the experience and in a few weeks time you will have some stunning images of your baby that will last forever, you will be happy, your family will be happy, the whole world will be happy!

A good photographer usually has a good eye for composition and creates unique pictures every time. Some say you're born with this gift, but I believe anyone can learn good composition skills. It's called practice.

When we're learning to compose good shots, we can get some wonderful creative ideas by looking at others' work. It's not that we want to copy their style, instead we need to absorb and remember the ideas and concepts; then apply that knowledge when we create our own images. Here are a few Photography Composition Tips that will help take your photography from ordinary to extra-ordinary.

Learn the Basics

There are many wonderful resources out there either on the web or in book form that can help you learn the basics of photography. You need to know how to work your camera so you get the proper exposure. Knowing how to use your shutter speed, f-stops and ISO settings are important to achieve the shots you envision in your mind. Choosing the proper lens also takes a bit of thinking and using a tripod is a must in certain situations.

A good photographer usually has a good eye for composition and creates unique pictures every time. Some say you’re born with this gift, but I believe anyone can learn good composition skills. It’s called practice.

When we’re learning to compose good shots, we can get some wonderful creative ideas by looking at others’ work. It’s not that we want to copy their style, instead we need to absorb and remember the ideas and concepts; then apply that knowledge when we create our own images.

Use of Foreground Elements

A foreground element in a photo will be the first thing that a viewer will see. Sometimes people will use a prop, a gate, a rock, a tree or a small object to grab attention and lead the viewer into the photograph. Using foreground elements will give depth and meaning to the rest of the image.

Use of Standard Compositional Elements. Diagonal lines is one of the most effective compositional tools that is used to lead the viewer to the main point of interest. Setting up the shot by using an imaginary triangle will help take the viewer to from one point to the next and back again to the start, giving a feeling of completeness. This is a very useful tool when setting up portraits that contain more than two people. The use of S-curves and shapes are also a great way of leading the eye around the photo.

Using Light

Nothing adds more drama or more interest to an image than good use of light. Proper use of light and shadows give the image a three dimensional feel. Painting Masters of the past knew that the balance between light and shadows was of primary importance in giving their paintings and portraits life. Being able to identify and use available light sources in an artistic and interesting way is an art that takes plenty of practice and patience. Composing your shot to make use of this light can take your photos from good to spectacular.
Points to Remember

Here’s some final Composition tips for you to remember when composing your image:

~ Make sure your horizon line is level.
~ Look for distracting elements. Poles coming from heads, wires etc.
~ Watch your depth of field.
~ Keep it simple.

Being critical of what you see through the viewfinder and using these composition skills will take your images from being merely good shots to absolutely amazing and creative photographic art.

Once you practice using these simple tips, it will become second nature and your shots will improve every single time. Spend the time to practice and learn from each shot you take. You will start to see a difference in your photography and then it will become effortless.

***

Capturing the perfect picture of a baby can be a challenging but rewarding task. Baby photography is often lumped under the classification of children’s photography, but baby photography is an entirely different animal altogether. Children are generally easier to work with as they can be instructed, but a small baby (which for purposes of this article we will define as under one year old) has a mind of its own.

As with children’s photography, it is important to understand the development stage the baby is at in order to get the best smiles. The following are some tips for taking great pictures of babies at varies stages of development.

Up to Ten Weeks: At this stage there isn’t a whole lot the baby can do but lie in a prone position. Compared to later stages, the baby is not too active at this point, so as long as the baby isn’t fussy, pictures are fairly easy. Try laying the baby on its back and focusing the camera at the baby’s head.

Four to Six Months: Now the baby can hold her head up, lie on her tummy, and prop her head up. The baby will watch and follow objects, reach for objects and grab. At this stage try placing the baby on her tummy, drag a toy in front of her to catch her attention, and pull it back to the camera. The baby’s eyes should follow it and she will be looking straight at the camera when you snap the picture. The baby’s lips are very sensitive and you can sometimes induce a smile by tickling the baby’s lips with a small soft toy or tissue.

Six to Nine Months: Baby is now very alert and notices everything around her. She can typically sit up, craw and even pull herself up to a standing position holding on to objects such as a chair. At this stage the baby may respond to a gentle tickle which can be used to product a quick smile. However, you need to be fast because the laugh will be very short lived. You also need to be quick with the entire photo session as the baby’s mood can change rapidly. A six to nine month old can be happy one minute and crying the next.

Nine Months to a Year: At this stage the baby responds very well to just about everything. However, with teeth coming in she can have periods of irritability that can’t be resolved. She will also demand constant attention and the need to be entertained every waking minute. This entertainment can come from you or from a toy. Try playing peek-a-boo around the camera. Imitate the child’s vocal sounds. Give her a prop to hold or play with. At least one of these methods is more likely than not to product a joyful smile.

One year to Eighteen Months: At this stage the line between baby photography and children’s photography starts to blur. The baby will easily play with you at this stage. This means throwing ball, swinging an object, climbing on just about everything. At this stage some babies will also be shy with strangers so you may need the mothers help more at this stage than any other. Give her a toy to play with and then ask for it back. Try throwing a ball back and forth with the parent. Use a long feather duster to tickle the child and pull it back directly toward the camera.

Maternity Photographer – San Jose Photographer

Pregnancy photography is a fast emerging trend that has taken root over the last few years, used by women to document as well as celebrate this most wonderful period of their lives. As more and more women become comfortable with their bodies, one can expect this trend to only increase in popularity.

-

Inherent to the idea of pregnancy photography is a celebration of life, the human body, and the woman as the source and abode of a new life. Further, a woman’s body goes through remarkable changes during the 9-month pregnancy period, and pregnancy photography helps document these changes as they occur. Furthermore, in an age of single child families, a pregnancy becomes a one-off occurrence that will leave scant memories once it ends. Pregnancy photography is a good way to make these memories permanent and cherish them forever.

-

Like any photography project, you can either do it yourself, or take the help of a professional photographer. The latter option, for obvious reasons, will give you better results. You can easily find many photographers who specialize in this niche.

When selecting a pregnancy photographer, you must try to find someone who knows his job intimately, has a lot of experience, and can make you comfortable in his presence. Understandably, many women have apprehensions about their body and the various changes taking place inside it, and may feel uncomfortable in the presence of a photographer. A true professional, however, should be able to put you at ease and give the best possible results.

-

Always consult the photographer’s previous work to get an idea of his aesthetics and style, and see if it matches yours. It is very easy to cross from tasteful to tasteless when it comes to pregnancy photography, and you obviously want to avoid the latter. Look for a photographer whose work exudes class, sophistication, and a celebration of the human body.

-

It is important to use the right kind of clothing when getting your photograph taken. Wear something light and thin to allow for maximum comfort, and maximum focus on the pregnant body. A thin robe, a large shirt, a light gown – these are all great options for a pregnancy photography shoot. Have a multitude of shots – some solo, some with your husband – in a variety of poses and angles to get the best results.

-

If you want to document the changes taking place in your body over the course of the pregnancy, it is advisable to get photographs taken every 8-12 weeks. This way, you can really have memories of all the body’s changes. Otherwise, can get just one set of photographs taken, preferably in the third trimester when the pregnant body can be highlighted. This, of course, is a personal decision.

-

Pregnancy photography is a wonderful new trend that celebrates the human body, and the creation of new life. Pregnancy is one of the most wonderful periods of a woman’s life that ought to be captured adequately in photos that will provide you with ever lasting memories.
