NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHER TIPS – SAN JOSE

It is so important to capture your newly born baby as soon as you can as they change so rapidly in the first few weeks. You might decide to let a professional photographer capture this precious moment for you, or indeed a family member of yourself. Which ever way you choose its important to get it right. I have listed below some key points which I hope will help you.

1. Timing – Choose a time when baby has slept and just had a feed as this is when baby will be best. For newborns it does not matter if they fall asleep as you can create some wonderful artistic shots this way.

2. Light – Look for nice bright space in your home that lets in lots of natural light, this will help you get much softer images, plus you will not need to use the flash, most cheap digital cameras now will let you turn it off.

3. Cropping – Parents love nice close up images of their new baby, to create a good composition try to keep the eyes about a third down from the top of the frame, this will crop the top of the head off but your final image will look better than trying to keep the whole head in. Continue reading

Professional Baby Photographer – SAN JOSE

I am a pro photographer, I take portraits of babies on a daily basis, and often explain the importance of having some professional baby photography.

I would often sit down and look through the files on the camera and phone, seeing how much she had changed. It was only a few weeks later that I became public enemy number one in the household. One day as I was again browsing through the images, my lovely wife mentioned in passing, “it’s about time we had some of those printed for the album”, I just nodded or made a noise to what she had said. I sat and thought about this for a few seconds and thought to myself, I must choose the best ones to print off as it will of course be cheaper and why do we need all the funny looking ones! This is when it all started… Continue reading

Photographing Newborns – Tips For Getting the Best From Your Photo Session

When should I schedule my newborn’s portrait session? Newborn babies are best photographed in their first couple of weeks in the world. Some parents like to wait until the belly button heals, and others really want that stage of life captured in a photo, but, since that usually happens during the first two weeks, for once it is possible to please everyone. During those first two weeks a newborn baby sleeps most of the time and in most any place, so getting them to stay still atop a pile of pillows, placed in a basket, or held up in Daddy’s hands is a much simpler task. Right after birth a baby remains kind of curled up in the fetal position, but before the end of the first month, babies begin to stretch out, making it harder to keep them safely in those precious poses. Many professional photographers get booked up to two months ahead of time. To make sure you are able to schedule a session during that small Continue reading
